Skiing in Alpe d'Huez
|
Alpe d'Huez is because of his
position, without any doubt, one of the most beautiful skiing areas in France.
It is directly located on the entry of the nature reserve Oisans, at the foot of the
Grand-Rousse-mountains, at a southern high plateau. The
Grand-Rousse-massif includes a 30.000 hectare large skiing area,
which peak is Pic Blanc glacier, at a altitude of 3300
meters. |

The skiing area Alpe
d`Huez offers because of his dimensions and his different
altitudes varied downhill runs of all levels. At the
under third of the altitude of the skiing area, there are the simple and comfortable downhill runs, which you can reach directly with the ski lift from the village. On the middle altitude it´s a little bit more demanding, people doing active winter sports are there
right. In the above Third of the skiing area,
aces and all which search for a challenge
get there of their money worth. The well-known 16 km Sarenne-downhill run and the
tunnel-downhill run belong to the most difficult ski-runs. |

Also for the youth is taken care of in this region. A snowpark with half-pipe, tables and boarder-cross offer the
possibility to jump and to optimize other specialities.
For the little ones there are a ski garden with ski lift, possibilities to play
and a sledge rink. Naturally cross-country skiing is also possible in Alpe
d'Huez. On 50 kilometres extremely well prepared cross-country trail
one can marvel at the breathtaking kingdom of nature of France. |
